Hi all.

Ok so this is my continuation from the old site:

And just a recap on my last post...
So in short, I joint the 2 pieces of the afterburner together using 2inch reinforcing fiberglass tape, and also added a few strips around for extra grip...
Once that was done and dry, I started laying down some putty...
And then had to sand it somewhat smoother and then lay more putty over the sections that needed to be shaped...
And repeat... Then the long tedious process of sanding...

How’s the weather in your area?
Was it at least a a nice day to be out and be sanding?

It's great watching how you're doing it. When Gez was still talking about his Tumbler build, he was going to sell copies of his 3D printed afterburner. I really wish I had jumped on that when I had the chance.

Thanks, yeah the idea is to keep it lit all the way..
The weather has been mostly good so sanding outside was better than trying to sand inside the garage...

Yeah it is a different approach than most would probably take, but it keeps me busy and thinking...
I remember when Gez was doing his and also wanted to look at it, but our exchange rate in SA is so bad at the moment it would not really be viable to have gone for that option...

Hi all.

Okay so I tried getting as much of the sanding and more putty done today, but man the sanding is just one hectic task...
And Im just doing basic shape building at the moment, not even the proper smoothing and finished before primer stages...
But all part of the process I suppose...

So do your neighbors stop to ask what you’re building?
Are they aware you’re building a batmobile?
Have they called the authorities on you, yet?

Hey Big Bozo.
My neighbors always see me building stuff and moving vehicles around so its 'undercover' for now, but think once the last of the cars are out and I do the frame, it might be a different story...
At the moment, only about 3 or 4 people here know what Im doing... Keep it that way for as long as possible...
And funny, my one neighbor is in the Police force. But they are cool, always help them with things and he has no issues when I 'play' with my toys...
Few times he and his son would come over and see what im doing then chat for a while... So I think Im safe there... For now...

Nice to see the progress of your build. Probably have shut mine down until spring.

Thanks man, doing what we can with the time we have available...
Hope you can maybe get some prep or planning done till then... Looking forward to seeing more on yours...

I will try to fill the air space. My prime building time is about to begin.
