Decided to revisit my RAT turbine build, as I got hold of a new inlet compressor assembly. There are too many vanes to be a correct match, but I think it will be better than building my own from scratch. Still have the old vanes too, if I ever decide to change my mind.
What do you guy's think?
Turbine fabrication.

I'm often a big fan of progress over perfection. Looks good to me. You can always change it again down the road.
"The will to act."
Re: Turbine fabrication.
The diameter fits the can perfectly and the metal nose just right too. I don't think your average Joe public is gonna be counting vanes.
Re: Turbine fabrication.
Really cool! I actually like the extra fins.

Re: Turbine fabrication.
Very cool...do any of you post guides or specs on your builds for others to use?
Re: Turbine fabrication.
I actually only have collected a few parts and do not have a full build going. So little point in trying to share any guides or tips with building. The Turbine above was started a good few years ago, when I managed to get a metal nose cone from a well known auction site in the UK. My late brother fabricated the turbine ring from stainless and I bought the turbine vanes from said same auction site.
A few months ago, I came across the new vane compressor so resurrected my turbine build for the new site. I am always looking to acquire parts and anything to do with the 89. I post what I can, when I feel it has relevance to builders and fans alike.
Need to post more stuff I guess.

Some more little 89 pieces.
Hood latches and the 'filler valve' from the front of the side mechanics.

Damn. Too everyday people those are just shiny metals. To us, those are things of beauty.

Re: Turbine fabrication.
That is the last part I am looking for, my collection will then be complete. I need a droopy nose cone for my RAT. (P.S. posting pics is way easier.)
